River Place Elementary has created a Care Closet for our students who might need help with fresh, clean clothes. LISD Clothes Closet is far from our school and might be difficult for some families to access so we opened our own mini version. Please help by donating any gently used or new items you may have. You can bring your items in and place in the Donations bin at the back of the school, near the car rider line. We will update this throughout the year, depending on the needs of our students.
We are also accepting food donations for our Care Closet.

We need one volunteer each week to help students receiving food from LISD's Backpack Program and RPE's Care Closet.
What will volunteers do?
From 2:00-2:45 on the last afternoon of each school week, a volunteer will meet students who are part of the LISD backpack program. Students will come down to the front office where the volunteer will make sure each student receives a bag of food to bring home for the weekend.
What is the LISD Backpack Program?
The LISD Backpack Program provides food that students in need can bring home for the weekend and over school breaks.
What is RPE's Care Closet?
The Care Closet was put together to supplement LISD's backpack program. Food has been donated by RPE families and local organizations/churches to further help RPE's students in need.
