This is an easy, low commitment way to help ensure a smooth transition for new families to RPE. Simply act as a resource for questions and be a familiar and friendly face 

Expectations:

1. Reaching out to your New Family within a week after receiving their information.
2. Making some sort of face-to-face contact either (in-person, mutually agreed upon social-distancing) or via Zoom or FaceTime. Get the kids involved so their kids can meet a face they may see at school.
3. Sending them a welcome basket. Please don't make it extravagant. (We don't want one family getting a 4- course meal delivered with Card My Yard and champagne and another family getting a $5 Starbucks card.) Donuts from Howdy Donuts or Hayley's Cookies or something like that would be appropriate. Cards from your kids included would be nice.
4. If you have kids of the similar ages start a book or puzzle exchange.
5. Send them a holiday card.
6. Encourage PTA membership and participation. ("Hey, I volunteered to do ____, want to join me?" or "Hey, did you see there is a PTA Zoom meeting tomorrow?")
7. Most importantly, just be available when they have questions and be a positive promoter of our school and district.
