Room Representative Guidelines

Thank you for serving as a room representative in your child’s classroom! This year our room representatives will play a slightly different role than in past years. Your help, dedication, and support will be critical in building community in our campus as we enter uncharted waters this coming school year.

In the past, a room representatives’ responsibilities included: collecting funds, organizing parties, participating in Teacher Appreciation, and giving the teacher class gifts. At this time, we will not be including any of these items as part of your job. We will not be collecting funds at this time. We will also not plan on any classroom parties until further notice.

The main responsibilities of the room representative will be to create community and open communication within your classroom. Our hope is to connect students, families, and teachers regardless if they are in-person or virtual throughout the school year. I will be creating a Facebook page for each grade at River Place. It is our hope that the room reps for the grade would administer the FB pages and provide information, guidance, and community on these pages. The room representative would also send emails to their classes with the same information for those that may not be on Facebook.

Once our room representative roles have been filled, I will send out information about a virtual meeting that we can have together. I look forward to hearing unique ways that you feel we can support and uplift our community and classes during this time.

I look forward to working with all of you this year!
