Room Representatives

Room Representatives help connect teachers, families, and the PTA throughout the school year. Most classes have two room reps who share responsibilities and work together to support their classroom.

What Do Room Reps Do?

• Share classroom, school, and PTA updates with families.

• Coordinate teacher birthday celebrations, gifts, and appreciation activities.

• Help organize the end-of-year class or grade-level party.

• Collect and track voluntary class contributions.

• Recruit volunteers for classroom activities, field trips, and school events.

• Decorate the classroom door with the teacher’s approval.

Class Contributions

Families are invited to contribute funds toward teacher gifts, classroom needs, and end-of-year celebrations. Contributions are voluntary, and any amount is appreciated.

Room reps track donations and expenses and share updates with families about how funds are used. Individual donation amounts remain confidential.

Getting Started

Connect with your co-room rep to divide responsibilities, introduce yourselves to your teacher, and send a welcome email to classroom families. Please share timely teacher and PTA communications within 24 hours whenever possible.

The Room Rep Coordinator provides communication templates, resources, and guidance throughout the year.

Teacher Appreciation & Celebrations

Use your teacher’s Favorite Things list to help plan birthday, holiday, and end-of-year gifts. The PTA will share instructions for supporting Specials Teachers and participating in Teacher Appreciation Week.

For end-of-year parties, work with your teacher and fellow room reps to coordinate plans across the grade level. Families can help by volunteering or contributing supplies.
